FAQ
Questions about remote CCTV monitoring.
What is PICKEYE?
PICKEYE is a remote CCTV monitoring service offered by Pickshield Security Services Pvt. Ltd. Trained monitoring professionals in our control room watch the camera feeds you assign to us, during the hours you choose, and alert your team when they see suspicious activity or an incident you have asked us to report.
How does remote CCTV monitoring work?
Your cameras are connected securely to our monitoring system over the internet. Our operators watch the agreed feeds according to your plan. When they see something that matches the agreed incident list, they follow your escalation procedure and notify the designated contact person.
How is PICKEYE different from ordinary CCTV recording?
A normal CCTV system records footage that is usually checked after something has already happened. With PICKEYE, a person is watching the live feeds during the monitored hours, so suspicious activity can be reported to you while it is happening.
Does PICKEYE use human monitoring or AI?
PICKEYE is a human monitoring service. Trained operators watch your camera feeds. If we use any software tools to assist operators, these will be described in your service agreement. We do not sell automated AI detection as part of this service.
Can I use my existing CCTV cameras?
In many cases, yes. Most IP cameras and DVR/NVR systems from common brands can share a video stream that we can connect to. We first assess your system for camera quality, positioning, recorder compatibility and internet connectivity. If some cameras are not suitable, we will tell you what needs to change.
What is the difference between 12-hour and 24-hour monitoring?
A 12-hour plan covers a fixed 12-hour window each day that you choose, typically the night shift when your premises are closed. A 24-hour plan covers the full day. The exact schedule, including weekends and holidays, is agreed in your service agreement.
How will I receive incident notifications?
Notifications are sent through the channels agreed with you, such as Phone call, WhatsApp, SMS, Email. You give us a list of contact persons and the order in which they should be contacted, and we follow that escalation list.
Can PICKEYE reduce my security manpower costs?
It can, in suitable situations. Some sites use remote monitoring to cover areas or shifts that would otherwise need extra guards. Whether you can reduce manpower depends on your premises, risks and what your guards currently do. We will give you an honest view after assessing your site.
Is internet connectivity required?
Yes. Live monitoring needs a stable internet connection at each site so that the camera feeds can reach our control room. The required speed depends on the number of cameras and video quality. We check this during the assessment and can suggest options if your connection is not sufficient.
How many cameras can be monitored?
There is no fixed limit per client. The number of cameras we monitor for you is agreed based on your site and plan. To keep monitoring effective, we focus on the cameras that cover the most important areas rather than every camera on the site.
What happens if a camera goes offline?
If a monitored camera or site stops sending video, our operators will notice the lost feed and inform your designated contact as per the agreed procedure, so the problem can be checked locally. We cannot monitor a camera while it is offline.
Can multiple branches be monitored?
Yes. Cameras from several locations can be monitored from our control room, each with its own schedule, incident list and contact persons. This is subject to connectivity at each site and monitoring capacity.
What are the service charges?
Charges depend on the number of cameras, the monitoring hours, the scope of monitoring, connectivity and the number of sites. We share a written quotation after understanding your requirements. Request a free security assessment to get started.
Does remote monitoring eliminate the need for physical guards?
Not always. Remote monitoring is excellent for watching many areas at once and alerting the right people quickly, but it cannot physically stop someone, check vehicles, patrol or respond on the spot. Many sites use PICKEYE alongside a smaller on-site team. We will recommend what is sensible for your premises.
