How it works

How remote CCTV monitoring works with PICKEYE.

A clear process from first assessment to live monitoring, so you know exactly what is being watched, when, and who gets called.
  1. Step 1

    Connect Your Cameras

Install compatible CCTV cameras or let us assess your existing infrastructure, recorder and internet connection.

    What happens

    • Site visit or remote review of your cameras and recorder
    • Check of camera angles, image quality and night visibility
    • Internet speed and stability check at each site
    • Advice on any cameras that need repositioning or replacing

    What we need from you

    • Recorder / camera admin access for our technician
    • A site layout or list of camera locations
  2. Step 2

    Choose Your Plan

Select 12-hour or 24-hour monitoring and agree which cameras, areas and incidents are covered.

    What happens

    • Choose 12-hour or 24-hour monitoring
    • Agree which cameras are monitored
    • Agree the incidents you want reported
    • Written quotation and service agreement

    What we need from you

    • Your working hours and holidays
    • Areas you consider restricted
  3. Step 3

    Live Human Monitoring

Trained professionals in our control room watch your assigned camera feeds during the monitored hours.

    What happens

    • Secure connection set up between your site and our control room
    • Operators briefed on your layout and routine
    • Feeds watched during the agreed hours
    • Lost feeds noticed and reported

    What we need from you

    • Stable internet at site
    • Power backup for cameras, recorder and router
  4. Step 4

    Receive Alerts

When suspicious activity or a predefined incident is observed, your designated contacts are notified as agreed.

    What happens

    • Operator verifies what they see before alerting
    • Contacts called in the agreed order until someone responds
    • Incident logged with time and action, where included in your plan

    What we need from you

    • Up-to-date contact list with backups
    • Who to call for each type of incident

Alerts & escalation

What happens when an operator sees something.

Every site has a written escalation list. This is the general sequence; the details are agreed with you.
  1. 01

    Observe

Operator notices activity matching your incident list.

  2. 02

    Verify

Checks nearby cameras to understand what is happening.

  3. 03

    Alert contact 1

Calls or messages your first contact through the agreed channel.

  4. 04

    Escalate

If there is no response, moves to the next contact on your list.

If a camera or site goes offline

Operators notice the lost feed and inform your designated contact so it can be checked on site. A camera cannot be monitored while it is offline, so power backup and a reliable internet connection matter.
